Campus Life
The polytechnic's management is deeply concerned about the welfare of it academic community. This has been demonstrated by the provision of adequate facilities such as the library, decent accomodation, wide variety of sports equipment, campus medical and health unit, transportation etc and the funds to manage them.
Councelling
The polytechnic also provides free confidential counselling services to both students and staff. A special service rendered to students is the “know your student” system. By this system, each student is allocated to a supervisor, a member of teaching staff who takes an interest in the general welfare of the student allocated to him/her. He becomes a special advisor, a person the student can trust and turn to for advice or help when in difficulty. Your supervisor knows you well and can therefore argue your case on official occasion, should this be necessary. He can also help to plan your study option and strike a reasonable balance between work and leisure.
Dinning
The polytechnic provides a central cafeteria with variety of menu that have taken into consideration the various tastes and economic status of students on pay-as-you eat basis. The canteen is supervised by Food and Environmental Committee and serves balanced diets at moderate prices.
Transportion
The polytechnic has acquired three buses for the use of the students. These buses are used to convey students from and to their hostels on daily basis at moderate price. Students are allowed to bring their vehicles but the polytechnic cannot be held liable for their safety.
Students Organisations
It is the policy of the Polytechnic to encourage students of the polytechnic, who so desire to organise themselves into and join organizations which contribute to the academic, cultural, recreational and social life of the polytechnic. For this reason, the polytechnic encourages a network of students-directed clubs and societies, designed to provide education on a broader scope beyond the classroom experience.
Activities such as lectures, panel discussions, religious interaction, and ecumenical activities, parties, receptions, field excursions, trips, exhibition, drama and musical programme, among others, are highly encouraged.
