History
Allover Central Polytechnic came into being at the time when the Federal Government of Nigeria was trying to liberalize education, taking special interest in technological education. This policy is based on the fact that technological education is the basis of economic and social transformation. Thus, Allover Central Polytechnic was established in accordance with the provisions of Decree 9, of 1993, allowing for the establishment of Private Tertiary Educational Institution in Nigeria.
Allover Central Polytechnic was approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria through the recommendations of National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) via the letter of approval referenced C/TEB.467/Vol.1/20 of 15th December 2003, and was listed in the 2004/2005 edition of JAMB brochure and included in the Directory of Accredited Polytechnics and colleges of Education in Nigeria.
The aim of the promoters is to provide the much needed technical education capable of transforming the economy and the society in general, and to creating employment opportunities that will make students self-fulfilling and self-reliant individuals in the later part of their lives. Another reason for promoting this project is to enable promoters share their academic, professional expertise and wealth of practical experience in training and development of man power with students. For instance, the principal promoters have been involved in training of professional accountants, bankers, administrators and tax practitioners for over 15 years under the MOTIPASS PROFESSIONAL LIMITED, which prepared students for the examinations of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CITN), Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) and Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM) at all levels of their examinations. It was the pride, joy and success achieved in training and development of many professionals in different fields that motivated the promoters to attempt the establishment of a Private Polytechnic.
We thank God that the hope and aspirations of the promoters to establish the polytechnic were not in vain, as today, the dream of establishing Allover Central Polytechnic has become a reality.
